Jacky Dallais' La Promenade
On Saturday we had a wonderful lunch at Jacky Dallais' La Promenade in Le Petit Pressigny (tel: 02.47.92.24.83). As is our custom we chose the Menu Tradition – deux plats plus fromages et desserts est 40€, trois plats: 50€. One star in Michelin – ought to be be more but the inspectors probably get lost in the depths of Touraine-Sud!
The food was fabulous from start to finish – inventive but everything worked. The service as usual discreet and efficient. Towards the end of the meal just a brief glimpse of Jacky Dallais at the reception desk before he returned to the kitchen – no celebrity chef antics here!
La Promenade also has an excellent wine list constructed and orchestrated by Xavier Fortin. It is particularly strong on the Loire and Languedoc-Roussillon. Naturally la modération ruled OK!
